OrangeThis 1970 Plymouth Road Runner is an original vintage vehicle that has been in the owner’s possession for over 25 years. Finished in Hemi Orange, the car was repainted in 2014 and has been stored since. It was primarily used for weekend drives and car shows. The odometer shows 77,536 miles, offering a nostalgic driving experience for any classic car enthusiast.
The car has always been garaged. It will need some attention, but nothing major. The tires will need replacement, as the car had not moved for over 10 years. It will need an alignment, oil pan gasket, and transmission pan gasket. The transmission was rebuilt in 2013 by a local professional shop. The undercarriage needs detailing, as I do not have a lift. There is some bubbling on the lower rear quarters. Some Rallye gauges work, while others may need cleaning. I do not attempt electrical work. The three Holley carburetors have been cleaned, with new gaskets, needles, and seats installed.
We purchased this car in the 1990s. It has been garage kept its entire life. There is no rust, and it retains all original sheet metal. The body is straight as an arrow. The motor stamping is pictured. A Chrysler 440 HP engine replaced the original 383 and features the highly regarded “purple cam.” The 727 automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2014 by a local professional transmission shop.
The car retains its original chrome with no pitting. The original bucket seats are in very good condition; the rear seat top has some cracking, as does the driver’s seat on the left side. The car was painted in summer 2014 and driven to shows and on weekends before being put away in fall of 2014, where it remained untouched until this summer.
This was my husband’s car. He lost his leg in early 2015 and sadly lost his battle with cancer last year. He loved this car and cherished it for decades. I have been hesitant to sell it, but I need to move on. I am 75 years old and have been refurbishing and adding necessary parts to get it started and brought back to life. Many new parts have been installed to get it running.
