1956 Chevrolet Cameo Carrier

Very rare 1956 Chevrolet Cameo Carrier, one of only 1,400 produced. Powered by a freshly rebuilt 305 CID V8 paired with a rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic transmission with floor shifter. Receipts totaling over $7,000 for the engine and transmission are included. Features a 4-barrel carburetor, headers, dual exhaust, and power steering.

Finished in striking Bombay Ivory with red accents. The truck has a new interior, new battery, and new Michelin tires. The body is exceptionally straight with excellent paint and is described as very reliable.

The Cameo Carrier offered car-like features uncommon for trucks of its era, including passenger-car styling, fiberglass rear fenders, two-tone paint, and a relatively luxurious interior, along with available V8 power, automatic transmission, and power assists. It helped pave the way for the El Camino. Design highlights include forward-slanting windshield pillars, a panoramic wraparound windshield, revised cab structure, hooded headlamps, and sculpted wheel openings that created a distinctive, modern profile for its time.
