White1965 Rambler Classic – 33,268 Actual Miles, Excellent Condition
This 1965 Rambler Classic, with only 33,268 actual miles, is a rare and exceptional find. 1965 marked the last year the Rambler name was used as its own line before the transition to American Motors. The Classic is uniquely sized, with a width similar to a 1968 Dodge Dart and a length comparable to a 1965 Chevelle. Much like the Dart, the Classic features unibody construction, making it surprisingly lightweight at just 2,915 lbs.
When new, the Rambler Classic was built with an emphasis on exceptional quality at an affordable price. The platform, introduced in 1963, was so well-designed that Motor Trend named the Rambler Classic “Car of the Year,” recognizing its subtle body sculpting and engineering advancements. Unlike the Big Three automakers, American Motors didn’t have the budget for major redesigns each year, so the Classic evolved in its styling from 1963 to 1966. The 1965 660 trim sedan is often considered the most beautiful, with brightwork that gives the car an upscale appearance, earning it the nickname “Kenosha Cadillac” among Wisconsinites.
