RedExperience the thrill of drag racing with this 1964 Plymouth Savoy Drag Car. Originally constructed from a rare Canadian factory max wedge car, it’s believed to be the only max wedge with body side molding. Since its creation in 2002, this vehicle has been meticulously updated with race-proven equipment and cutting-edge fabrication, ensuring peak performance and reliability.
Under the hood lies an impressive 572 CI Keith Black V-8 engine, renowned for its power and speed. The engine features Keith Black cylinder heads, powered by a pair of Barry Grant Dominator 4-barrel competition carburetors, and feeds through a BG400 fuel system with a pressure regulator. The MSD 7AL-3 delay-box ignition initiates the engine while multiport nitrous oxide awaits to boost power upon demand.
The car utilizes a dry-sump oiling system, including a Hamburger’s aluminum oil pan and a System One oil filter, and is driven by a Reid Powerglide automatic transmission. The power is managed through a Strange axle, a 4-link rear suspension, a panhard rod, and wheelie bars, ensuring the vehicle’s impressive handling and performance.
The Plymouth Savoy’s exterior boasts a striking red color, with fiberglass elements in the front hood, fenders, and bumpers. It maintains its classic Plymouth aesthetics with the original grille, door handles, and trim, complemented by lightweight components for racing efficiency. Dzus fittings allow for quick removal of the scooped hood and front bodywork, enhancing ease of access.
Inside, the vehicle is outfitted with a red-painted roll cage, a single black bucket seat equipped with a Stroud SFI racing harness, and a Grant GT steering wheel. The Weld Racing Prostar wheels and Goodyear Eagle slick tires underline its racing pedigree, ready to conquer the strip.
This 1964 Plymouth Savoy Drag Car comes with a clean title and an original fender tag, certified to provide thrilling performance and vintage charm, perfect for drag racing enthusiasts ready to make a mark on the track.
