Experience the exquisite craftsmanship and power of the 1968 Plymouth GTX, presented in the exclusive M55 Charcoal Gray Irid Metallic finish—a one-year-only Imperial color. This exceptional vehicle, cherished for 47 years, boasts a clean title and is ready for a new discerning owner.
With only 22 miles since its last appraisal, this car has been meticulously maintained and refreshed to ensure peak performance. From front to back, everything is new, including a completely overhauled front end, a NOS steering box, torsion bars, and an entirely fresh electrical system, all sourced from Year One. The brake system has been upgraded with NOS front and rear brake drums, wheel cylinders, and brake lines.
Underneath the hood, you’ll find a powerful 514 ci engine fitted with Ross forged pistons, a Molnar crank, and connecting rods with BBC big ends, all secured with ARP 2000 bolts. The engine features steel billet main caps, indexed lifter bores with BHJ fixtures and cast lifter bushings, a solid roller camshaft with Isky Red Zone lifters, chromoly push rods, and expertly ported Indy EZ-1 cylinder heads.
The transmission has been freshly dressed with new bearings, brass stop rings, and speed gears, ensuring a smooth driving experience. The Dana rear end has new bearings, clutches, and steels with the original 1967 date-coded 4.10 ratio gear set reinstalled. The ignition system features a reliable MSD 7AL3 box.
This GTX is not just a car; it is like a brand-new 1968 model, maintaining its originality and authenticity over the years. Though the fender tag and build sheet were lost in 1977, the vehicle retains its original character with superb attention to detail and quality. Original parts, such as the jack and manifolds, accompany the car.
This is a sophisticated vehicle suited for an experienced classic car owner who appreciates the engineering and history of a true American muscle car. The 1968 Plymouth GTX represents an era of automotive excellence and is ready for its next chapter with a passionate new owner.
