1969 Ford Mustang – Family Owned Since 1971 – 351W / 4-Speed – Solid Driver

This 1969 Mustang has been in our family since 1971, when it was purchased from a used car lot in Waipahu, Hawaii. The car was last repainted in 1987 using a basecoat/clearcoat finish, which still presents very well today.

There is some light overspray from an unknown source (wrong place at the wrong time), which should come off with light compounding or polishing. There is a minor rust spot at the bottom of the driver-side door skin. The common Mustang cowl vent water leak issue has been addressed by removing the rusted metal and installing galvanized flashing with sealant. Overall, the body is a solid 20-footer, possibly better.

All steering components and lower control arms replaced in 2024

Wilwood front disc brakes installed in 2024

Needs a front-end alignment following suspension work

Tires & Registration

Goodyear tires installed in 2004 (from Sam’s Club); old but in excellent condition due to limited driving and garage storage since 1990

Clear California title

Last registered in California in 1990

Driven to Texas in 1990 but never titled or registered in Texas

Engine & Drivetrain

351 Windsor with upper rebuild completed in 2004, including:

Heads, valve seats, seals, guides

Timing gears and roller chain

Oil pump, oil pan

Water pump and fuel pump

Gaskets

Original 2-barrel intake replaced with Edelbrock Performer 351W 4-barrel intake

Holley 600 CFM carburetor

Edelbrock Performer-Plus cam kit (cam and lifters replaced)

Original gas tank replaced during engine work

Fuel sending unit replaced but recently stopped working

Transmission & Rear End

4-speed manual transmission

Original shifter replaced with Hurst Competition Plus shifter

Clutch linkage functions properly

Clutch disc and pressure plate need replacement

Drivetrain in great condition back to the original 3.00 rear differential
