Dual Cockpit Design | Boat-Tail Rear | One-of-a-Kind Creation with Period Detail & Vintage Power
Exterior
Crafted entirely from aircraft-grade aluminum, this striking roadster is a rolling piece of sculpture—blending classic cues from the 1920s through the 1970s into one unforgettable design. The forward-canted aluminum grille surround evokes the earliest era of motoring, while the chrome bullet-style headlight pods and cowled hood call to mind pre-war grand tourers. A winged goddess hood ornament crowns the centerline, adding an elegant focal point.
From its squared-off front fenders and side running boards to the dual-open cockpit layout, the car channels aviation and early roadster DNA. In contrast, the rear end transitions to a curvaceous, boat-tail design, flanked by gracefully plunging rear fenders. A true blend of eras, the rear sports no fewer than three sets of tail lamps and reflectors, drawing influence from the 1940s, 1950s, and 1970s.
Deep-dish chrome-trimmed wheels are sprayed in silver and centered with Str8ly-branded red moon hubcaps, adding a bold signature. All body panels are straight, riveted, and rust-free, underscoring the high level of craftsmanship throughout.
Interior
The cabin delivers a raw, open-air experience, inspired by WWII-era biplanes and early sports racers. With no roof or doors, entry is purely via climb-in, fitting the period-correct form of a vintage track machine. Inside, twin aircraft-style cockpits are upholstered in red vinyl with black tuck-and-roll upper inserts, mimicking bomber seats in both form and function.
A spun aluminum dash panel stretches across the front cockpit, loaded with Stewart Warner blackface gauges, vintage toggle switches, and indicator lights—all with a distinctly mid-century aviation feel. The driver is greeted by a two-tone 1950s-style steering wheel in red and white, featuring a central chevron emblem for added retro flair.
A custom center console with integrated cupholders and a storage tray separates the front passengers. Behind the main cockpit is a third full-width bench seat, similarly trimmed, accessed only by climbing over the side—a nod to early roadsters with optional rumble seats.
Drivetrain
This hand-built machine is powered by a 331ci Chrysler HEMI V8, one of the most iconic engines of the early American performance era. It breathes through a single Holley 4-barrel carburetor, offering a potent but manageable powerband for street and show use.
Backing the legendary HEMI is a 2-speed PowerFlite automatic transmission, delivering power to the pavement via an 8¾-inch rear axle, visible at the rear. The engine bay is presented in industrial gray and silver finishes, continuing the aircraft theme, and reflects the car’s purpose-built, mechanical character.
Summary
This custom aluminum-bodied creation is a coachbuilt one-off, blending aerospace aesthetics, early automotive design, and hot rod power into a uniquely drivable work of art. Whether viewed as a rolling sculpture, showpiece, or conversation-starting cruiser, it stands apart from virtually anything else on the road.
Ideal for a collector of custom coachwork, aircraft-inspired builds, or high-concept hot rods, this vehicle embodies hand-crafted originality and period-correct charm—from its 331ci HEMI heart to its sculpted dual cockpit form.
