Saxxon YellowThis Jeep is an exceptional example of an original, low-mileage Jeep CJ7 Renegade. While the photos look great, they truly do not compare to the in-person experience of walking around and interacting with the vehicle.
The only damage noted—and shown in the photos—is one snap missing the inside portion of the “keeper.” Replacing the snap would be easy; however, the original Whitco button has been intentionally retained. Aside from this, the top is in exceptional condition. The top alone is worth $4,000. The clear plastic windows are exactly that—clear—and it would be very unlikely to find one in better condition.
The paint and all 1979 Renegade decals are original, including the decals on the glove box, which is particularly noteworthy. The interior is difficult to fully capture in photos. Sitting inside truly transports you back to 1979. It is extremely clean and original, even retaining the jack in its original bag under the driver’s seat.
The floorboards beneath the factory removable carpet are nearly perfect, with only the slightest surface rust in areas where it would be expected. The radio delete is an interesting factory option and adds to the all-original character. The undercarriage is very clean and almost entirely free of rust.
Power comes from the 304 V8, which runs great and has a smooth, throaty sound. Steering is tight and exceptionally smooth. Very few 1979 CJ7s exist in this condition, making this a rare opportunity. Pictures and words simply do not do it justice—this is one of those classic originals.
The Jeep includes the original window sticker, manuals, and other original March 1979 paperwork. The title is clear but states “mileage exempt.” However, based on the condition of the vehicle, there is little doubt that the original mileage of 33,542 is correct.
For full disclosure, the two small Levi’s emblems on the exterior are believed not to be original, as the seats are listed as “tan denim” on the original dealer window sticker, not “Levi tan denim.” Additionally, the front bumper appears almost too perfect and may have been replaced, though given the overall condition of the Jeep, it is possible it is original. These details are mentioned solely in the interest of transparency.
